Take exit 190B and go east to Charleston Route 16. In Charleston, turn left at 4th Street (fifth stop light), go to Madison (second stop sign), turn left on Madison, go one block. Copper Eagle is on the left.

From I-70
Take exit 119 at Greenup. Go north to Charleston on Route 130. In Charleston, go to the stop light at Lincoln Avenue (Rt. 16). Continue one mile north to the stop sign at Madison Avenue. Turn left on Madison and go one mile to 3rd Street. Copper Eagle is on the left.

From Route 130 N
Go south to Charleston on Route 130. In Charleston, go to the stop light at 5th and Madison (Hucks on the left). Turn right on Madison. Go two blocks to 3rd Street. Copper Eagle is on the left.

From Route 16 E
Go west to Charleston on Route 16. In Charleston, go to the second stop light (18th and Lincoln). Turn right on 18th Street. Go one mile to the stop sign at Madison. Turn left on Madison. Go one mile to 3rd Street. Copper Eagle is on the left.

Amish Sites Near Charleston, Illinois

One of the largest Amish communities in the United States is only twenty miles north west of us in the Arcola/Arthur area. The first Amish came to Central Illinois in 1865 and the community has grown to more than 4,000 individuals (according to Illinois Amish Country). Driving in rural areas around Arcola and Arthur, you will see buggies sharing the roads with cars, neatly kept farms, and laundry blowing in the breeze. In town, you can stop by their furniture and cabinetry shops.

In Arcola, visit the Amish Interpretive Center to learn more about this fascinating culture.
